Job Summary
The Certification Specialist is responsible for critical examination development activities and improvements of IIBAs certification exams in support of IIBA’s strategic efforts to lead the global business analysis community and professional standards, so every person achieves more.
Working with internal IIBA stakeholders, volunteer contributors from IIBAs global community, and external exam vendors, the Certification Specialist applies industry best practices to exam development and certification activities.
Reporting to the Manager, Certification Programs & Operations, this hands-on, dynamic role facilitates multiple item banks, leads volunteer item writers through the exam development lifecycle, manages certification translation activities, and improves certification and re-certification customer experience.
Job Summary
Certification Exam Development
- Manage ongoing exam development across multiple item banks and certifications
- Lead and facilitate the work of key stakeholders and volunteer contributors in the item writing lifecycle from creation to test publication
- Establish multiple projects, schedules and deadlines under management approval
- Facilitate the item writing training session and prepare volunteers in testing and qualification assessment best practices
- Configure item bank for new/updated exams, certifications, and workflows
- Work in collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify gaps in item banks to ensure development aligns with needs
- Work closely with exam vendor to publish, pilot and conduct cut score analysis of new/updated exams
- Participate and contribute to practice analysis study sessions
- Support the exam blueprint process as needed
- Manage the launch of exam translation activities in collaboration with IIBA marketing teams, exam vendor, and volunteer contributors
- Maintain and update the exam version control database system
- Update certification-related information and support materials for IIBA members, chapters and partners
Relationship Management
- Establish ongoing working relationships with the volunteer subject matter expert teams
- Coach volunteers in the roles and requirements of exam development and design
- Provide certification resources, material, and guidance to volunteers
- Coordinate and recognize the efforts of volunteers
- Create, maintain and approve volunteer hours in “Hands on Connect”
Certification Operations
- Create-update program materials/documentation (including vendor updates) for customer-facing and back-end administration
- Identify and recommend improvements to certification procedures and practices
Audits/Issues
- Manage the re-certification and ongoing qualification process for certification holders
- Conduct audits and assessments of certification and re-certification to ensure that operational procedures comply with certification guidelines and requirements
- Address operational issues and audits of certification and ensure escalations are resolved quickly and trends are identified
Volume Partner Exam Administration
- Administer the end-to-end candidate experience for Online Proctored Group Testing Events
- Set-up Exam Registration Windows
- Communicate requirements and provide guidance to IIBA’s account management
- Monitor and maintain IIBAs Registered Proctor Program™
- Work closely with IIBA account management and the Customer Support Team to ensure compliance with established protocol
- Address issues, concerns and non-compliance and escalate as required
Technical Support
- Track volume and effort required for issue/exception handling, manual processes/workarounds and, recommend opportunities for improvements and/or automation
- Provide input to and validate impact of change on data, processes, and workflows
- Coordinate and participate in regression and user acceptance testing of AMS including updating test scripts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, college diploma or equivalent work experience in administration, education, adult learning, or related field
- 3 years of relevant work experience, including experience in i) professional certification programs, or ii) business analysis or a related filed, that requried faciliatation. Any hands-on experience working with an exam delivery system, that included configuration and reporting tools or experience with credentialing, learning and development or related certification work would be considered assets
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Strong analytical, organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Excellent business acumen
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Exposure to IIBA and/or an IIBA certification
- Previous hands-on experience working with CRM/AMS (i.e., Salesforce), that included configuration and reporting tools
- Any experience/exposure with global/virtual organizations, 100% remote work, a member-drive organization or volunteer engagement would also be considered an asset
