Job Title: School Librarian

Department: Library

Reports to: Principal

Summary:

The School Librarian is responsible for the planning, development, and management of the school library. This includes selecting, organizing, and providing access to a variety of resources, including books, periodicals, electronic media, and other materials. The School Librarian also provides instruction to students and staff on how to use the library and its resources, and coordinates library programs and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Select, organize, and maintain the library collection both physcially and digitally.
  • Provide instruction to students and staff on how to use the library and its resources.
  • Coordinate library programs and events.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement information literacy instruction.
  • Promote reading and the love of literature.
  • Maintain the physical condition of the library.
  • Administer the library budget.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in library science from an UGC recognized University.
  • 2+ years of experience in a school library setting.
  • Strong knowledge of library resources and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹20,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
